Cathay Pacific Business Lounge Review: Haneda Airport

Cathay Pacific Business Lounge Haneda Airport

We knew we had to visit the Cathay Pacific business lounge prior to visiting the Japan Airlines first class lounge on our upcoming first class Cathay Pacific flight. The main reason we had to visit was because of Cathay Pacific infamous noodle bar. The lounge is located on level 6 near gate 114 and is open from 07:30-1700 daily.

Layout

Cathay Pacific business class lounge was recently remodeled in 2014 and we could not be more impressed. They have wrap around windows which allow for great airplane spotting and allow in significant natural light. This is important as all two often lounges can appear dark and given the feeling of claustrophobia. Their is tradition style seating and what we really like is a separate dining area near the noodle bar. You also have the option of sitting at the bar. This is great as it give you the opportunity to see the chefs in action.

Food

Food is always of highest quality and their business class lounges are know for their noodle bar. Therefore, we had to try out the two noodle options: Dan Dan noodle and Wonton noodles. Both were fantastic and a great start to travel. Interestingly enough they also seemed to have French toast which I thought was a little odd.

In addition to the noodle bar, they also have a centralized area where you can grab a selection of small little snacks include traditionally Japanese and Western options. We had a selection of jellies, cheeses and pastries. I love that they are small portions so that you can sample a few different options without getting to full for the flight.

The lounge has a full service bar and when we were there had several drink specials. I think this is great as it sets the lounge apart from all other business class lounges in their portfolio. They have an excellent selection of coffee and tea.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I would absolutely recommend a stop at the Cathay Pacific business class lounge next time you are at Haneda Airport. While not as extravagant as the Japan Airlines First class lounge with respect to amenities, the natural light as well as noodle bar make up for it. Let us know if you have been to the lounge and your thoughts.
